Don't ask don't tell

Oh the joy.  Just watching the briefing from the generals on the repeal on Don't Ask Don't Tell on CSPAN 2.  They questioned hundreds of thousands of military people and their wives.  (why the wives I am not sure...unless some were questioning what their G.I. was placing his riffle.  Oh forgive me...I could not resist)

Turns out the +90% don't care.  Which means...there are 10% of very loud obnoxious people who have caused a huge deal out of something that few even think about.  For crying out loud...these people are fighting and dying...I don't think the subject of hey...are you single really comes up that much.  I could be wrong.

Then the questions from the press.  My favorite...will they have separate shower and housing facilities?  Answer...NO.  Can you imagine in this day and age.  Those that have been kicked out...can apply again.  Isn't that nice.  SO...an organization has fired you because of who you are, you can now rejoin since they treated you with such respect in the first place.  Lovely.

A three phase plan.  Assessment, implementation, then susstainment.  So..still no time frame.  Because the future is still pending.  (Brilliant observation).  Perhaps they meant...well...now that there are so many republicans in the houses of congress...this could take forever.

Don't get me wrong...I think all these people are committed to their assignment.  I just think the assignment is ridiculous.  I work with gay people...it has never made me feel uncomfortable.  In fact...I am gay....in my youth it made me uncomfortable because of the relentless messages received by the rest of society how I was different.

I also work for heterosexual people, bi-sexual, transsexuals, transgender, questioning...none of which have bothered me.  I have worked with Holy Rollers and Bigots...they bothered me.  However...I never felt the urge to assault them, kill them, or wish they no longer existed on this earth.  I just felt pity for them because in my view their lives were so closed off to what the world of humanity had to offer.  However...who am I to say.  Feel as you wish.

This entire argument seems to be silly to me.  I find it comical to watch very serious people speaking very eloquently about a topic that is such a non starter.

The houses are back in session

First,

Senator Fraken arguing for approving the signing of the SALT treaty.  Basically a treaty to modernize and protect "lose nukes" with Russia.  Huh...hardly important, I mean...what can be more important then the destruction of the entire planet.  Screw that.

Then the Congress.  Listening to the democratics arguing for funding of court cases that have already been ruled in favor of the American Idians water rights and African American farmers for violation of their land rights.  Hard to come down on the other side of that argument.

Leave it the the (R) in congress.  Although framing the argument with lies and nice big words to make them sound like they are not biggots.  In short all the words meant were...we can't give money to those people of color!  Why there will be people who were not a part of that class...so there will be people getting money by lying.  Becaues we all know they are liars.  Why should we give those colored people any money...that money is obviously for us white folks.  Especially those of us from the south.  I just don't understand why people just don't remember their place and get back to working the land, providing food, and serving us fat lazy white people who are not even worthy of walking among the rest of American Society.

Have I said how much I hate these people?

A Thanksgiving Poem

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours
A holiday I have learned to applore
Yes, this is a tale of woes
but only after decades of dealing with schmoes

If you work in retail you will relate, if not you may not even know what goes on behind the gate
For me I am working today at noon.
With an injured back, wrist, and a bruise on my hip, a kidney sized shape
This however is the life I choose
In the older days I would do so for you to buy a toaster and pantyhose

Now I have changed to be sure you can buy your supplies to make home made gifts with stuff from China
Yes all those home made projects you adore only got here on big containers that arrived from off our shores
They used to be things made in the USA
However now they are made by folks making a few dollars a day

All this so you can honor white folks conquering the brown
with groceries, recipes, and food made for folks fit for a crown

Those of us working and missing this family day, we only ask you not to treat us as slaves
You see, we too have family and friends, but we never see them on these important days
For we are working, stocking, signing...dripping with sweat
all so you can come in a get a cheap drawing set

So after your meal and time with your friends, keep in mind you are dealing with clerks, managers and employees alike who have given up much to give your tradition some life
With that in your head, if everything does not meet up to your expectation of nice
remember many have given up their time with the kids, friends, husband or wife

As retailers open earlier by hours or days
remember there are many who have given up time, and if you asked, they would say I would love to be with the ones I love and be able to stay

Instead I have chosen to be here in the store to help you select what you need
so please be patient as our companies believe, we should be like Santa and meet every ones needs
Most times we can, However there are things out of our control, like payroll, amount of product and what is advertised as "limited quanities" to get you in the door

So be kind even if you have to wait, or you see a salefloor person at one time all at once, helping eight
Try not to be short of patience or mad, for all that does is make people sad

If a salesperson is needlessly rude, by all means calmly let them know they may need a break
or perhaps some food
You see, for us we don't get any holidays off, we don't get to spend time with the ones that we love
Instead we choose to help you bring joy to those that you like or love

So if you are the type that does not like kaos and lines, perhaps stay home this weekend in time
Or take some valium before you get in line

A week in review

OK...here is what I remember about this week's events.  First there was the handing of the gavel from the Botox lady to the Orange man.  Then the Republicans demanding that we give 7 trillion dollars in extended tax cuts to the top 1% and if not...nobody gets any....none for those damn middle class.  Social Security reform....remember Al Gore and his Lock Box...not so funny anymore is it.  Extend the retirement age...that way more people will die before they reach retirement so they won't be sucking at the national teet.

Alan Greyson (D-Florida) was defeated.  You know...the one who said the republicans plan for health care was to "not get sick, if you do get sick, die quickly".  Oh how the right wing was so outraged.  However...what is on their agenda...repealing health care reform.  Oh how we punish the truth tellers in this twisted country.

Next onto Obama.  Can we all just agree that he is not the man to send into a negotiation of any kind.  The folks in the far east where he was seeking trade treaties laughed at him.  He was ranked the 2nd most powerful man in the world under China's premiere.  (for whatever that's worth)  China pretty much owns the USA anyway...so...seems fairly accurate and non news worthy to me.  I don't see the point of sending a man into a negotiation that already tells the other side what he will settle for?  I thought the idea was to ask for much more then you want, then negotiate down to the point where you get what you actually want?  Is that too complicated for a constitutional professor to understand?

Finally...this reaching across the aisle crap.  Even a 2 year old learns that if they touch the hot stove and get burned...stop reaching over and touching the hot stove!  Not Obama...after two years of the "friends on the other side" giving nothing, agreeing on nothing, blocking everything, making virtual grid lock of the government and making the achievements that were made look insignificant....Obama still says he looks forward to working with his "friends on the other side".  News flash...you have no friends on the other side.  They hate you.  They hate everything you stand for, everything you are, everything you are trying to do, they are just one big ole' bunch of hate.  If it were up to them, they would stop playing, take the ball and go home.  Damn the consequences.  I mean...why not, they have not suffered any for their deplorable actions to this point, why would they be worried about that now.

I guess I have one more thing.  Did you see the ground breaking of the Bush Library.  Just the title alone makes me laugh, I mean...has he ever really read a book?  I know he is on a book tour right now...(can you say ghost writer and plagiarism, many of the passages of Bush's book have been lifted from Bob Woodward's book).  Chenney hobbled his way out to his chair on stage...only thing missing was the black long coat with the hood and a cycle.    That's all I could take...the war criminal supporting the other war criminal on his book tour of a book he did not write, breaking ground on a library that is sure to revise the entire debacle known as the criminal enterprise "The Bush administration".

That's enough for now...stock up on canned goods.

Gretten Facestretchin' and Carl Rove Talk crow about 2012?

So it's Saturday and I just got up from a nap.  Yeah...I am getting to that age.  Anyway...after 15 minutes of lockup raw...I flipped one channel down to see Carl Rove with Gretta Facestretchin?  They were seemingly having an adult conversation about the 2012 Republican Candidate for President.  Really...Rove...The architect of what was the worst presidency in my lifetime...possibly our history?  Being listened too by a woman's who face was stretched so tight she can not close her mouth?

They each seemed to think they were making sense...it all seemed very "out of reality" programming to me.  She asked him if he thought the media would play a role in painting the image of either candidate?  His response...No...I don't think the press will be that much of an influence?!  WTF?  Then I thought for a second...oh...yeah...maybe he is correct.  That will be two years after the republicans have had their fare share of time to destroy anything that remains of the media in America today.

So..Paliln and Romney...that's the best they could come up with...WOW...whoever said "may you live in interesting times" was surely not a very nice person.

Lead with a boner

So today was the ceremonial handing of the gavel to the new speaker of the house. It warms my heart to think of all the little chain smoking, alcoholic, orange kids now have a role model...something to aspire to.

I wonder how many times boner will cry on the floor of the house? I think it is currently three.

The new priority? Earmarks. FYI earmarks are less then one percent of federal spending. Nothing like starting with the heavy lifting! Forget the economy, illegal wars, war criminals on book tours, unemployment, the national debt. Let's start with something that will not matter to a bug on a rug.

I wonder what they will be working on behind the curtain as they divert Americas attention to something so insignificant.

Something tells me it will be more redistribution of wealth to the top 1% of wage earners.

Fasten your seatbelt it's going to be a bumpy couple of years.

Executive committee on balancing the budget

OK folks,

I have not had time to read the proposal for balancing the budget. Here is what I know so far:

- take away the home mortgage deduction. (how many more foreclosure would come from that)
- take away all deductions.
- the corporations have already managed to insert language that would make anything done outside America not subject to taxes.

Here is my take. The corporatons have already figured out how to not pay taxes.
We the people did not cause thecurrent economic mess. This was caused by the corporations and the government they have bought and paid for. So, they caused the current crisis, why should we the people pay the price to get the country back on track?

Here are a couple simple ideas. Cut the defense budget by 90%, after all, what has the last ten years of war produced beside death, destruction, the almost collapsed world economy. Hardly Anglos investment.

Deduct social security no matter how much money you make. Currently if you make over $106,800 a year, you do not pay any social security deduction for all income over that. Trust me on that one, been there, done that. Additionally, when you are mOong that much money you dwould not notice the social security deductioon. To befair, those who pay more would get more once they retired.

These two things would make social security solventforever. The money saved from not killing, death, destruction and social engineering would allow us to address all theneeds our nation has.

People of America, the time has come to get up, off your ass and get out in the streets, organize protests, and let the powers that've that we are mad as he'll and we are not going to take it anymore.

The continued transfer of wealth to the top 1% has got to stop. This country is on track to hit a brick wall and complete destruction is the natural course of action.

Get up, act up, and make a difference, if not for you, for those who are unable to be heard.

Progressive Democratic Activist: Keith Is Back...and another topic about mass white...

Progressive Democratic Activist: Keith Is Back...and another topic about mass white...: "Well, Keith Oberman is back. That is a good thing. Shows what hundreds of thousands of people can accomplish when they come together for..."

Keith Is Back...and another topic about mass white insanity in America

Well,

Keith Oberman is back.  That is a good thing.  Shows what hundreds of thousands of people can accomplish when they come together for one common goal.

I still think it is scary that Comcast is going to aquire NBC, which is owned by GE, which is one of the largest defense manufacturer's in the world.  Don't you think that it is strange that the people who make the bombs and weapons to kill people are the same people who control the message to the population as to why all these brown people must be killed?  Especially when they have no armed forces to defend themselves.  Just strikes an odd cord with me.  Oh  and he new chairman of that committee is the Republican congressman who apoligized to BP for what he called a "shake down".

Next onto mass white insanity that has swept the nation.  It is too bad that back in the 1960's that the civil rights leaders did not think big enough.  While all they had to do is get a black man in the white house, and the white race would go so insane they would basically committ mass suicide.  Cut off medicare, medicaid, food stampes, social security...all those entitilement programs for all those "lazy" people.

Hmmm...Lazy people.  25% of America's children are on food stamps.  One in eight families in american are receiving food stamps.  Millions have lost their jobs, their homes, their hopes, their dreams.

Hey...here is an idea, since the spineless Democrats were not able to fix it all in 18 months, let's put the Republican's back in power since they have done such a fine job from way back when Reagan let all the insane out of the institutions in California, then went onto to bust up the unions in the U.S.  At it's peak unions represented 35% of the American workforce, now it is less then 7%.  Do you really think that few people wield so much power in washington that the politicians are dancing to their drummer?

No...the time is here...the complete and total take over of America by Corporations.  They are recognized as people by the Supreme Court.  In the Citizen's Untied Case it was ruled that corporations were people and therefor could give as much money to political campaigns as they pleased.  Do you think that is why this last mid term election was the most money ever spent on a mid term election in the history of our country?  I do.

The system is corrupt.  Jefferson once said something to the effect that the tree of liberty must be watered by the blood of patriots in order to have a healthy democracy.  Is that what it has come too?

The majority of us voted a 1/2 white 1/2 black man to be president.  (Notice how no one ever calls him our 1/2 white president.)  The old white folks are so up in arms they have taken up arms and are willing to rise up and exercise their "second ammendment" remodies.  That is if they can get their scooters to Washington...you know...the ones that were paid for by medicare.

Oh...and the debt...look how much it has gone up since Obama has become president!  Has anyone ever stopped and reflected that for 8 years we have been conducting 2 wars (3 if you count Pakistan) that were completely "off the books".  Not in the budget.  Then the domocratics come along and say...hey....we should really put this in the budget...wow...that will tripple the deficit in a hurry.

What about those bail outs.  All those darn bail outs.  Sure Bush signed it, then Obama tweaked them and moved some of the money to the auto makers and new energy etc.  Along with loading the banks and financial insttitutions with money for them to lend to small business.  Well...that did not happen.  However, we did avoid entering another great depression.  Of the 700 billion spent, the non-partison congressional budget office estimates the entire program will end up costing us 50 billion dollars.  That's a small price to pay for saving the worlds economy.

However...there are some looming concerns.  Like the federal reserve printing enough money to equal 100% of the daily national debt.  Now...I am a simpilton when it comes to these complicated matters.  However, if you are spending 100% of what you make each day, it is just a matter of time before you hit the brick wall at 200 miles an hour.  That is where we are heading.  Why do you think gold hits a new high almost every day?  It is the escape plan for the ulra-wealthy.  When the currency collapses since Reagan took us off the gold standard, it has just been a matter of time before all this blew up in our face.

Make no mistake, many will get hurt, many will die, many will suffer needlessly, many will die from lack of food, lack of healthcare, and quite frankly lack of anyone giving a damn about "the other".  Well my friend, the other is you, and the other is me.  It may not be us now...but some day...and that day will be soon...it will be us.

So....my advice...stock up on can goods, get a few fire arms, protect what is yours, because soon this country will devolve into anarchy.  There will be no rule of law.  There will be no money to enforce the law.  No money to keep the criminal justice system functioning.  No money for fire departments, police, public works.  It will be a country where everyone fends for themselves.

This will probably be the first generation who achieves less then their parents did.  The "American Dream" is just that...because you have to be asleep to beleive it.

Oh...but there is always hope.  Hope and Change.  Change we can believe in.  Sound familiar.   Yea...I am still waiting for that as well.

Truth out,

Matt

Keith Oberman Suspended WIthout Pay

Today Keith Oberman was suspended without pay.  To me this translates to being fired.  Is it a coincidence that Comcast is about to cement the 51% ownership in NBC?  I think not.

This may be the first shot across the bow to show the power of the corporation to silence voices of decent.  It could be contract negotiations.  However, I have never heard of anyone in media being suspended without pay and then returning to the air.

I think this is Comcasts way of saying, we will move MSNBC and their opinion makers more to the right.  Thus making the left, the center, and the extreme right the right.  In other words...make it difficult for the American electorate to be informed of all sides of an argument.

Control the media, control the message, control the elections, control the outcome, control the people.

In Europe the politicians fear the people, in America the people fear the politicians.

Get up, get active...don't wait until it is too late to make a difference.
